What is Stutor?
We are an App based, Peer-to-Peer platform that connects students to other students at their university. We create centralized networks on every university campus so that students can request and receive tutoring help from others that have taken specific classes at the same university. Stutor makes it easier as we take care of all logistics pertaining to finding help. We’re bringing tutoring to the 21st century.
Who can use Stutor?
Any current University or College student can sign up to use our app. You must be an active student still in school from freshman all the way to PhD students.
Who are the Tutors on Stutor?
Eligible tutors on our platform are active university students who have completed specific courses and received at least a B. At this time, all tutors will be at the same university as you. That way you get the help you need from someone understands your class because they took the same class, maybe even from the same Professor.
How do I request a Tutor?
After creating an account on Stutor, click on the Logo in our tool bar to request a tutor! Click here for a specific guide. After filling out the information and requesting a tutor, we’ll match you up with tutors best suited for your needs.
Can I use Stutor on my phone and laptop?
Yes! Stutor is both mobile and web based.
What is the difference between Stutor and Stutor+?
Stutor is meant for students who need tutoring help while Stutor+ is a separate app for Student Tutors! Be a student. Be a tutor. Be both!
How can I become a Tutor on Stutor?
If you’ve completed any class at your university and received a B in the class, you are eligible to tutor for that class on Stutor.
As long as you’re a current student attending school, download the Stutor+ app today, and begin tutoring for EVERY class you get a B in! The side hustle that makes sense!
Do I have to give or receive tutoring help in-person?
Have to? Absolutely not! With our integrated video chat option, we give students the flexibility to complete tutoring sessions remotely using their phone or laptop. If you like’d tutoring in-person, coordinate with your student or tutor via our messaging platform.
How is payment done?
No more cash or Venmo transactions, link your card or bank account and we’ll take care of all payment logistics on the app. After every session, just follow the screen directions to complete payment!
How much does Stutor Cost?
It’s a free download! Student Tutors on Stutor get to set their own rates. Every single tutor may charge different rates, students can pick tutors that fit their budget!
Is it Possible to pre-book a future Tutoring session?
Yes! When requesting a tutoring session, make sure to select the date and time desired for when you’d like a tutoring session and we’ll match you up with tutors that have schedule availability. We’ll not only schedule your appointments but also remind you when a tutoring session is about to begin.
Can I communicate with other students on the app without giving my phone number?
Yes! Privacy is extremely important for us so please use our integrated messaging to do all coordination and communication with your fellow students, please do not share personal information.
What is the Cancellation Fee?
You can cancel a session at any time on the Stutor App but may be charged a cancellation fee if you canceled within 15 minutes of your scheduled session. We want to make sure everyone’s time is valued and be respectful to others. Fees pay tutors for their time and effort they may have spent preparing for and getting to the tutoring session. Tutoring sessions should only be made when you know your availability. Please be ready on time!
Can I do group tutoring sessions?
Not Yet! But please stay tuned as group tutoring sessions is something we are currently working hard to develop! We will let you know when it comes out!
